A new version is about to be released (1.1), currently the latest version is 1.1 RC4. Client and Servers are compatible between 1.x and 1.y versions.

Version 1.1 new features
FSFS notes

There is a minor security bug in version 1.1 RC3, see the report. It can be solved by upgrading to 1.1 RC4 but the windows binaries are not yet available as of now.

EDIT: Release version 1.1 is out!
» Updates
Ok, it's been a while since the last post of the blog, but here we are, still alive ;)

On the tools side, I have some good ones:

For Eclipse:

Version 3.0.1 is out with many bugfixes!

Web Tools Platform: Great thing, if you have used Websphere anytime, you'll inmediately notice its similarities, basically it's a *BIG* set of plugins for developing J2EE apps.

See the eclipse home page for more tools, like Pollinate, AJDT, Hyades, Voice Tools Project and much more!

For .NET:

Ok, today I started learning some serious things about C# and .NET, and started gathering tools as usual, here are some:

SharpDevelop: Free alternate IDE to Visual Studio
Web Matrix: Free IDE to develop ASP.NETapps. See the resources page too!
MSDN: A classic, but you cannot live without it, it's the Documentation for almost everything MS.
Cassini: Light Web server for .NET
Don't forget Mono and dotGNU if you are using Linux! Did I mention that Gentoo is great (except for the installation which is a big pain)

For PHP:

If I didn't mention it yet, please check out XAMPP, BigApache and this free hosting site :)

Ah, and PHPEclipse too (PHP Eclipse plugin)!

On unrelated news, here's a good page with pub addresses and phone #s in Montevideo, Uruguay
» Victory!!!!
Yesterday tonight It was a very happy night, as I had the final evaluation for my degree thesis, which was about design patterns and language extensions (I will post it to the personal web page soon). It was the only pending subject for me to finish my career in computer science engineering, so here I am now, I'm a computer science engineer!!! :)
» Ant Build Creator Eclipse Plugin
I made this small yet nice plugin for Eclipse, check it out :)
» Another useful blog & GTray
Check out this one. It has nice computer related issues, and Formula 1 too :)

I also found a nice tool for GMail users like me, it's called GTray and it's  a tray icon that checks the status of the account. It's available both for Gnome & Windows.
» New free book @ TSS
A new book is available at The Server Side: Java Testing and Design.
» Eclipse blog site / thesis
I've found this nice weblog for eclipse. By the way, Eclipse 3.0 is out (since 25 of June)

On other news, I've made the final delivery for my degree thesis altough it still has to be evaluated ;)
» screen & centericq
This is interesting... I used screen and centericq to leave the chat and livejournal accounts open in the home server so I can go anywhere and continue where I left :)
» Blog creation
Welcome to my blog. Here you will find useful information I find across the web, specially computer related issues.
